Orthonormalization of Substrate and Guided Modes in Effective Resonator Model of Dielectric Multilayer Structure

چکیده
The aim of this paper is to present the derivation of orthonormal sets of substrate and guided modes in the effective resonator model of a dielectric multilayer structure, described in [1]. Calculations that can be found here are a continuation of [2], where they have been conducted for radiation modes, therefore, the adopted notation, as well as definitions, are the same as therein. In the effective resonator model, a plane wave emitted by a source located inside one of the layers of the structure is considered. The layer is treated as a resonant cavity, with reflection coefficients of its right and left boundaries rR and rL (which depend on the wave vector k and polarization 2 of the plane wave). Distributions of field can then be found by summation of series of reflected plane waves. In particular, in the considered layer, the electromagnetic field is a superposition of two plane waves: one with wave vector k, and the second, which could be called reflected, with wave vector k∗: k∗ = kxex + kyey − kzez (1) (it is assumed that the z axis is perpendicular to the boundaries of the layer) and ∗e-mail: [email protected]

Multipactor Analysis in Dielectric Resonator Waveguide Filters
Multipactor breakdown analysis is presented in cylindrical dielectric resonator waveguide filter under its dual-mode behavior. The method of effective electron algorithm with combination of Monte-Carlo method is used to perform the simulation and predict multipactor breakdown thresholds. The breakdown thresholds of the proposed structure are presented for different values of frequency-gap produ...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling and Experimental Study of Probe-Fed Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna (RDRA) Supported by Finite Circular Ground Plane
Dielectric Resonator Antennas (DRAs) have received increased interest in recent years for their potential applications in microwave and millimeter wave communication systems. DRAs are normally used with the support of a ground plane. The radiation and impedance properties therefore depend not only on their physical dimensions and dielectric properties, but also on the size of the ground plane. ...

A Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna (RDRA) is theoretically analyzed using the Conventional Dielectric Waveguide Model (CDWM), numerically simulated using the High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) software package and experimentally investigated with the consideration of the fundamental mode TE 111. Antenna parameters under investigation inclu...
متن کاملA Novel Circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna with Branch-Line Coupler and Log-Periodic Balun
A new shaped circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna (CP DRA) is studied with branch-line coupler and log-periodic balun for the GPS application. Since the coupler and balun are located under the DRA, it does not increase the footprint of the antenna, as a result the system is very compact. Two configurations are considered in this paper. In the first configuration, an external 50Ω lo...
